Rav Zolly Claman
I was brought up in snowy Ottawa, Canada and spent my high school years in the local yeshiva high school, Ottawa Torah Institute. Straight afterwards I went overseas and spent 3 years at Yeshivas Bais Yisroel in Yerushalayim where I enjoyed tremendous relationships with fantastic rabbonim who paved my way in personal growth and learning. From Bais Yisroel I went across town to the Mir Yeshiva for two years, where I took advantage of opportunities that left a lifelong impression on me, for example being under the tutelage of Reb Usher Arieli, Shlit”a and having a weekly chavrusa with the late Rosh Yeshiva Rov Nosson Tzvi Finkel Zt”l. After spending some time in Ner Yisroel Baltimore and Beis Medrash Gavoha in Lakewood, I returned to Eretz Yisroel with my wife and started my kollel years back with Reb Usher Arieli in the Mir Yeshiva. A couple years later I had heard about the CKD Kollel, and after realizing how much opportunity was being offered, I sent in an application. One thing led to the next and soon enough I was sitting alongside such an amazing group of yungelite, accomplishing things that I never knew possible and being pulled further and faster by the undercurrents of success that are so evident in our beis medrash.
